Three school districts have the honor of serving the educational needs of students in La Habra: La Habra City School District, Lowell Joint School District, and Fullerton Joint Union School District. La Habra City School District includes seven elementary schools and two middle schools; Lowell Joint School District has three elementary schools; while La Habra's high school aged students attend La Habra High School or Sonora High School in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. Parents also have the option of sending their children to Whittier Christian High School to learn in a faith-based setting.

La Habra is also located near several colleges and universities, all which offer the necessary curriculum to move students forward toward their chosen careers. Fullerton College, California State University-Fullerton and Biola University are all just minutes away from La Habra. Other institutions of higher learning located nearby include Cypress College, Cerritos College, and Rio Hondo College.


La Habra fosters a pro-business environment and has much to offer to new and existing businesses thanks to the city's location near the 57 freeway. Imperial Highway (90) also runs through La Habra, and the city is just minutes north of the 5 and 91 freeways. Currently, some of the top employers in La Habra include CVS/Pharmacy, Wal-Mart, the City of La Habra, and Target, among others.


La Habra has two dozen city parks that residents can fully take advantage of. Offering a wide variety of amenities such as basketball courts, playground equipment, barbeque pits, and skating areas, residents enjoy spending time in the city's carefully maintained parks. On top of that, La Habra's parks and recreation department also maintains Class I (paved, off-street) and Class II (signed bicycle lanes, on-street, and striped) bikeways.
